Computer-Aided Road Inspection: Systems and Algorithms
نویسندگان
چکیده
Road damage is an inconvenience and a safety hazard, severely affecting vehicle condition, driving comfort, traffic safety. The traditional manual visual road inspection process pricey, dangerous, exhausting, cumbersome. Also, results are qualitative subjective, as they depend entirely on the inspector’s personal experience. Therefore, there ever-increasing need for automated systems. This chapter first compares five most common types. Then, 2-D/3-D imaging systems discussed. Finally, state-of-the-art machine vision intelligence-based detection algorithms introduced.

6 Many quality characteristics encountered in the food industry are compositional proportions, e.g. protein percentage in milk powder. The distributions of these quality characteristics are intrinsically not normal as well as cannot be well-approximated by it. Moreover the shape of underlying distribution of the quality characteristic in each lot is likely to change in a short-run production pr...
متن کاملClassifications and Properties of Materials for Chairside Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing Dentistry: A Review
Background and Aim: Chairside computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems have become considerably more accurate, reliable, efficient, fast, and prevalent since 1985 when CEREC was introduced. The inceptive restorative material option for chairside CAD/CAM restorations was limited to ceramic blocks. Today, restorative material options have been multiplied and include me...

1.1 Introduction Sum of all time between part development and part expedition represents time to market. Time to market direct influences on the total production cost. It is sufficient that time to market and the production costs is minimum. The computer aided (CA) systems influence on the factors of competitive advantage.
متن کاملComputer-aided proofs and algorithms in analysis
The computational power has increased dramatically since the appearance of the first computers, making them a vital tool in the analysis of dynamical systems. We present further applications of those two basic ideas, namely interval arithmetic and automatic differentiation, that address the question of the reliability of the results and the difficulty of calculating derivatives. In general, the...
